Chaplains to Chaplains Self-Care

As a chaplain, you will face some of the most difficult, stressful and trying situations that people go through. Death, sickness, divorce, business failures, post-traumatic stress disorder, hospice, extended care facilities, and nursing home situations along with critical incidences are just the tip of the iceberg. The list of human issues is endless. And this is in addition to whatever you have going on in your own life. Therefore it is essential that you have a safe place to go, where a contemporary, someone who has been there and done that, can help you through the troubled waters.
The Americans Chaplains Association has experienced trained chaplains in all critical areas that can help you during times of extreme stress or if you just need to have a friend to talk to. It is one of the most essential services that we provide to and for each other.
Having a network of caring professional chaplains to help during critical times is one of the biggest assets that you will draw upon. As you go through the certification process and then continue to be in relationships on a monthly basis with other chaplains, you will build a team of trusted friends that will be there for you.
Not only in times of stress and crisis, but other chaplains will also be there to help you understand the system, create the right paperwork, the right marketing information and how to approach businesses, hospitals or other areas that you feel called to minister to.
